Today I was inspired to share a small glimpse of where I paint. Its not some fancy studio but I love it. A place I go in my mind to create, be myself, let my thoughts and ideas come out wherever they may land. There are lots of trials and errors before it becomes what I want it to be. Creativity is about pushing yourself in your mind and spirit, breaking down the fears and the ‘I can’t do this’ in your head. But remember you can… its not just about believing its about doing! I work out of my garage, my husband is so sweet to give it up so I can paint. He says he loves it when I paint because he knows it make me happy. I create because it makes me ‘feel’ and my spirit is lifted! Thought: The first story in the bible God CREATED the world. We can create our world.
There’s stacks of canvas everywhere… I probably have about 20 paintings I’m working on. The painting in front: Jesus Wept (huge canvas)
Yummy colors. I love the son True Colors by Cyndi Lauper. The words are beautiful.
My area gets really messy, but I don’t really notice it until I have about an inch of the table to work on!
My art is intuitive… that is when I create the best work.
Color is very important to me, I don’t use any formulas, I let the colors come from my feelings and spontaneity. This painting is inspired by a bible verse: “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.” -Isaiah 60:1
Its not glamorous but I love it! But I dream of having a big studio with lots of windows.
I spend a lot of time in my sketchbooks… I have about 7 of them going. I work on one while the others are drying. I’m currently creating one for my husband as a gift for Christmas. Its called My Love Art.
