This painting I did 20 years ago and is still one of my favorites! I like the texture and simpleness, a reflection in time. I have learned so much over the years about myself thru the expression of creativity, it is a process of discovering who you are and believing in what you do even if no-one else cares or understands. We all have something that comes from within the creative soul that is part of us that needs and wants to grow. I love this quote by C.S. Lewis about time and future, “The Future is something which everyone reaches at the rate of sixty minutes an hour, whatever he does, whoever he is.” Whatever we are doing in the next 20 years, the fish will still be swimming, what will we be creating? Does it matter, we still have to keep moving forward to our destination. At one point I wanted to teach Art Therapy but I was too impatient to do the schooling, I’m currently working on a new series of painting with emotion that I will share the progress with you on my blog. I’m finding them very therapeutic and taking me to a new level of creativity.
“A work of art which did not begin in emotion is not art.” -Paul Cezanne
